it is normal for the leafs to change color when placed under direct sun light or exposed to the cold of winter, as it is a protective mechanism. In some informational websites it is said succulents need at least four hours of sun. As Sarajordan2993 suggested try not to place the plant under direct sunlight but as the plant looks very green Which is not a bad thing but is a sign that it hasn't been receiving enough sun light. I water my plants only when the soil is dry and so far they are doing okay. Really there isn't a specific certain way of taking care of these plants because it seems to work differently for some people. If you know the exact name of this plant I suggest maybe try looking for more specific information on the web
